COVID19 WAR ROOM DIRECTIONS

Chandigarh.5 August,2020:Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT Chandigarh, Sh. VP Singh Badnore today presided over Daily War Room meeting.  The meeting was attended by Sh. Manoj Parida, Adviser to the Administrator, and Sh. Sanjay Beniwal, Director General of Police at Punjab Raj Bhawan. The Administrator also interacted with Sh. Arun Gupta, Principal Secretary (Home), Sh. AK Sinha, Finance Secretary, Sh. KK Yadav, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation and Sh. Mandip Singh Brar, Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh, Deputy Commissioners of Mohali & Panchkula, Director-PGIMER, Director Health Services & Director Principal, GMCH through Video Conferencing.

 

WAR ROOM DIRECTIONS

 

1.Dr. Jagat Ram, Director, PGIMER stated that there are 114 patients in the Covid Block, out of which 46 belong to Chandigarh, 40 from Punjab, 13 from Haryana, 06 each from Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, 02 from Rajasthan and 02 from Jharkhand.  He also stated that they have tested 828 covid samples, out of which 78 belonging to various states were found positive.  Dr. BS Chavan, Director Principal, GMCH stated that they have tested 348 covid samples, out of which 30 were found positive.  He also mentioned that a dedicated dialysis machine has been earmarked for covid positive persons, who want to do regular dialysis.

 The Administrator appealed to Chandigarh residents to avail this dedicated dialysis facility instead of crowding other centres.

 Dr. G. Dewan, Director Health Services stated that they have tested 1,392 persons, who reached Chandigarh by trains and buses.  He also mentioned that from 31/07/2020 till 04/08/2020, the Medical Survey Team has covered screening of 7,989 persons and all symptomatic cases have been sent for testing.  Dr. G. Dewan also stated that for the first time, Rapid Antigen Testing has been started in the Union Territory.  Out of 220 samples collected from various dispensaries, 21 have been found positive.

The Administrator directed doctors to take special care of senior citizens and co-morbid patients.

2.Deputy Commissioner, Mohali stated that they have 360 active cases.  Deputy Commissioner, Panchkula stated that they have 377 active cases.  Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh stated that they have 470 positive cases.

3.Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh stated that they have already issued 10,000 challans for violation of social distancing and mask wearing.  He further mentioned that 4,39,000 persons have downloaded Aarogya Setu Applications.

4.Sh. Manoj Parida, Adviser stated that the testing of samples have been substantially increased with the introduction of Rapid Antigen Testing.  All arrangements are in place to accommodate mild, moderate and critical cases in various centres.

 

5.The Administrator, UT directed that a Committee of medical experts should be constituted to study the existing facilities in the three major medical institutions and also recommend methods to enhance covid treatment beds, keeping in view the rising number of cases.

 

6.The Administrator directed Food Secretary to ensure that distribution of wheat and pulses, which have been allotted among eligible families should be completed on priority.

7.The Administrator directed Finance Secretary to urgently hold a meeting of all concerned officials to finalize the congested markets which should follow odd-even formula and such shopping areas, which need to be totally closed for social distancing.

8. The Administrator directed Commissioner, Municipal Corporation and Deputy Commissioner, UT to keep a watch on open air eating places and Dhabas, which could lead to covid infection, if due care is not taken by the diners.

 

9.The Administrator directed that the guidelines notified for gymnasiums and yoga institutions should be strictly followed while opening these places.  Any violation will invite closure of the unit.

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote".
