Chandigarh.31st May ,2021:The Chandigarh Administration has distributed 1,400 metric tonnes of wheat under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana. The foodgrains are distributed free of cost to the registered beneficiaries @ 10 KG of wheat per family member, for month of May and June 2021 in one go. Only those, who have been earlier enrolled for cash transfer under DBT are eligible to receive these foodgrains. This is in addition to monthly food subsidy being given.
Sh. Vinod P. Kavle,IAS, Secretary, Food & Supplies stated that despite lack of any infrastructure like fair price shops, food depots, the Administration has been able to distribute the foodgrains in various sectors without any crowd, congestion or controversy.
The Administrator, Sh. VPS Bandore has advised that the help of area councillors should be taken to ensure smooth distribution.
The food distribution has already been completed in Mauli Jagran, Manimajra, Sector 26 and 49. It is presently going on in areas like Dhanas, Maloya, Burail, Sector 52 and 56.

Chandigarh 10 th August 2017: In compliance of the directions of the Government of India to take steps for improvement of ranking in “Ease of Doing Business’ index, the Chandigarh Administration has notified Chandigarh Building Rules (Urban) 2017. The existing building byelaws/orders/notifications issued from time to time have been reviewed bya committee. Since amendments to the building Rules were never compiled before, therefore, comparative analysis of existing building byelaws applicable in Chandigarh was done viz-a-viz Haryana Building Code 2016, TCPO Model Building Byelaws 2016 and NBC 2017. This exercise has simplified the building Rules as each and every rule has been tabulated and individual chapters including Commercial, Residential, Industrial, Institutional, IT Park, High Rise buildings etc. The report had been earlier approved by the Administrator, UT, Chandigarh after seeking views from general public.
