Celebration of World Environment Day 2021 - Prize distribution ceremony regarding State Eco-Club Awards to Schools & Colleges on 05th June, 2021.

Chandigarh, June 5: Today, celebrating the World Environment Day 2021, Department of Environment, Chandigarh Administration, observing all Covid Protocols honoured Principals & Eco-Club Incharge teachers with ‘BEST ECO CLUB AWARDS -2020’. Appreciating the inspiring work of Eco Clubs in Schools Sh. Debendra Dalai, IFS, CCF cum Director, Department of Environment said that such green initiatives empower students to participate and take up meaningful environmental activities and projects. It is a forum through which students can reach out to influence, engage their parents and neighborhood communities to promote sound environmental behavior. Eco Clubs also empower students to explore environmental concepts and actions beyond the confines of a syllabus or curriculum. While everyone, everywhere, asserts the importance of ‘learning to live sustainably,’ the environment remains a peripheral issue in the formal schooling system. It is not just an extracurricular activity but a must for all the people at all times, if we have to live a healthy and peaceful life. Sh. Dalai also added that the theme of World Environment Day-2021 is 'Ecosystem Restoration with the slogan Reimagine, Recreate and Restore' as this year marks the beginning of the United Nations Decade on Ecosystem Restoration. Now, obviously the contribution, commitment and concern of each one of us is important to reverse the damage already done to nature and to heal it. Pulse Polio Campaign

Chandigarh, 4 th   April, 2017:   Activities conducted for three days i.e. from 2nd – 4th April, 2017 during Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do Boond Zindgi Ki’ to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 Years with Oral Polio Drops were successfully completed today. The campaign was held for three days in which Day 1 was dedicated for Booth Round and Day 2 & 3 were planned for door to door visit to immunize all children of Chandigarh in this age group with Oral Polio drops. A total of 1, 00, 236 children were immunized with oral polio drops during pulse polio activity and 929 teams visited 2, 65, 042 Houses and immunized Children with oral polio drops on day 2 and 3. 'X’ houses will be covered in the coming days too to track the unimmunized children and give them polio drops. E auction of various commercial, residential and industrial sites to begin in Chandigarh

7th January 2019: Chandigarh Administration is about to begin the e auction process of various commercial, residential and industrial sites in Chandigarh. 10 residential sites on freehold basis,13 commercial sites on leasehold basis and 1 industrial site on leasehold basis are proposed to be e auctioned. The auction will be made public on 9th January 2019 at 9:00 AM and the documents can be submitted/EMD can be paid from 9th january till 23rd January 2019. Document/EMD approvals will be given from 24th January till 30th January. In addition to this the Estate Department will create a help desk at Estate Office Chandigarh on the above dates to create digital signatures of the applicants. Bidding will begin from 31st January (9:00 AM) till 4th February 2019 (till 4 PM)
