Chandigarh.9th June,2021: The Department is distributing free food grains @ 10Kg Wheat per person for two months (May & June, 2021) in one go under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojna (PMGKAY) to 2,66,365 registered beneficiaries under NFSA, 2013. The work of distribution was started from 20.05.2021 by setting up temporary distribution centres in Community Centres or Government Schools in various locations of Chandigarh. In addition to it, the food subsidy amount for the month of May & June, 2021 has already been released to registered beneficiaries.
Ms. Nitika Pawar, Director, Food & Supplies today visited at distribution centre Dhanas and it was stated that despite lack of any infrastructure like fair price shops, food depots, the Administration has been able to distribute the foodgrains in various sectors without any crowd, congestion or controversy with the full corporation of the area councillors and police personnel. She further stated that the Department had completed more than 83% distribution within 19 days and leftover beneficiaries will be covered shortly with the support of the area councillors.
For covering leftover beneficiaries, the Department has setup 10 Distribution Points at Village Manimajra, Ramdarbar, Daddu Majra, Dhanas, Maloya, Sector 15, Sector 22, Sector 29, Sector 37 and Sector 42 covering all the areas of Chandigarh.
The distribution is being done on the basis of mobile app based Aadhaar authentication of beneficiaries
Chandigarh 10 th August 2017: In compliance of the directions of the Government of India to take steps for improvement of ranking in “Ease of Doing Business’ index, the Chandigarh Administration has notified Chandigarh Building Rules (Urban) 2017. The existing building byelaws/orders/notifications issued from time to time have been reviewed bya committee. Since amendments to the building Rules were never compiled before, therefore, comparative analysis of existing building byelaws applicable in Chandigarh was done viz-a-viz Haryana Building Code 2016, TCPO Model Building Byelaws 2016 and NBC 2017. This exercise has simplified the building Rules as each and every rule has been tabulated and individual chapters including Commercial, Residential, Industrial, Institutional, IT Park, High Rise buildings etc. The report had been earlier approved by the Administrator, UT, Chandigarh after seeking views from general public.
