Trade Welfare Board meeting held under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner

Chandigarh.11th August,2021:A meeting of Trade Welfare Board held today under the Chairmanship of Sh. Mandip Singh Brar, IAS, Deputy Commissioner -cum -Excise & Taxation Commissioner, U.T., Chandigarh.
Issues relating to GST and VAT were discussed in detail. Deputy Commissioner-cum-Excise & Taxation Commissioner directed the departmental officials to examine the issues subjectively and to sort them out within a specified strict time frame. The issues raised by the representatives will be taken up on priority by the Department.
The meeting was attended by Sh. R.K Popli, Additional Excise and Taxation Commissioner, Sh. Sorabh Kumar Arora, Assistant Excise and Taxation Commissioner, Mrs. Heena Talwar, ETO(GST) and the representatives of Chandigarh Beopar Mandal (Regd), Chandigarh Business Council, Chamber of Chandigarh Industries, Industries Association of Chandigarh, Laghu Udyog Bharti.
Chandigarh 10 th August 2017: In compliance of the directions of the Government of India to take steps for improvement of ranking in “Ease of Doing Business’ index, the Chandigarh Administration has notified Chandigarh Building Rules (Urban) 2017. The existing building byelaws/orders/notifications issued from time to time have been reviewed bya committee. Since amendments to the building Rules were never compiled before, therefore, comparative analysis of existing building byelaws applicable in Chandigarh was done viz-a-viz Haryana Building Code 2016, TCPO Model Building Byelaws 2016 and NBC 2017. This exercise has simplified the building Rules as each and every rule has been tabulated and individual chapters including Commercial, Residential, Industrial, Institutional, IT Park, High Rise buildings etc. The report had been earlier approved by the Administrator, UT, Chandigarh after seeking views from general public.
