Chandigarh Theatre Festival

Chandigarh, 23 rd   May, 2017:  Department of Cultural affairs, Chandigarh Administration along with Tagore Theatre society is organising Chandigarh Theatre Festival from 26 th to 28 th May 2017, at Tagore Theatre, sector 18 Chandigarh. In view of the same a press conference was organised today at U.T Guest house, Chaired by Sh. Jitender Yadav, IAS, Director Cultural Affairs, U.T. Chandigarh, wherein all the details about the three plays were shared by Sh. Jitender Yadav, IAS, Director Cultural Affairs. Addressing the gathering Sh. Jitender Yadav, IAS, Director Cultural Affairs said, “the three day festival will be inaugurated by Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Smt. Kirron Kher on 26 th May 2016. Public grievance forum

Chandigarh, 23 rd   May, 2017:  C omplaints have been received in the office of the S.D.M (Central & South) U.T., Chandigarh stating that in the Grain Market, Mandi Sector-26 Chandigarh, few defaulters are misusing the parking area near Chakki No.3 Mandi Sector-26 Chandigarh with the help of parking contractor and thereby also installing the illegal Subzi Rehri-pharis from 2.00 AM to 09.00 AM and collecting the money in an illegal way. In this regard the   S.D.M (C & S) U.T., Chandigarh is giving an opportunity to the citizens of the Chandigarh that if anybody wishes to submit their grievance then they can appear before the S.D.M (C&S) on 25-05-2017 at 11.00 AM in the S.D.M Central office, Sector-17 Chandigarh.

Anti-polythene drive

Chandigarh, 22 nd   May, 2017:   An anti-polythene drive was conducted today at 01:00 PM in the Market Area of Sector 32 and Sector 35, Chandigarh under the supervision of    Ms. Kriti Garg, IAS, SDM (S), Chandigarh and Inspecting Staff of MOH, MC, Chd. to seize the polythene/non woven plastic bags being used by the shopkeepers. During the drive 18 challans amounting to Rs.36000/- were issued to the users/defaulters. Approximately 10 Kg non-woven carry bags and polythene bags were seized by the staff and the same have been handed over at Garbage Processing Plant, Sector-25, Chandigarh. More such raids are likely to be conducted in near future also.

Anti Rabies vaccination-cum-Humane Education Camp held at village Kaimbwala, Chandigarh

Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh-cum-President, SPCA-Chandigarh, the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in coordination with the Department of Animal Husbandry, Chandigarh Administration organized Anti Rabies vaccination-cum-Humane Education Camp on  22 nd May, 2017 at village Kaimbwala, Chandigarh. On the occasion Capt. Submission of grievances before the S.D.M (C&S) on 25-05-2017

Chandigarh, 18 th May, 2017: In accordance with the provisions mentioned under section 4 (1) of the "Delhi Prevention of Defacement of Property Act, 2007 as extended to UT Chandigarh" issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India , the Administrator, UT Chandigarh is pleased to appoint the Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh as implementing authority for municipal area and the Deputy Commissioner/Sub Divisional Magistrates as implementing authorities in their respective jurisdictions for the composition of offences.

Chandigarh, 18 th May, 2017:  It has been made to appear to Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS, District Magistrate, U.T., Chandigarh that commercial establishment/shopkeepers engaged in the business of Restaurants/Dhabas, Discos, Clubs and Vendors sitting by the road sides and on the public places operating till late in the night are causing annoyance and are disturbing the public peace and tranquility leading to a harmful influence on public order. And whereas, Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS, District Magistrate, U.T., Chandigarh is of the opinion that in public interest such commercial operations should not be carried on till very late in the night and so order that running of commercial establishments/shops etc. in trades/services such as running of Restaurants/Dhabas, Discos, Clubs and hawking goods by the road sides and on the public places between midnight to 04.30 A.M. in the Union Territory, Chandigarh is prohibited for a period of 60 days.
