Chandigarh.14 January, 2020.With the gazette notification of 188 public services being provided by the five major public dealing departments viz. DC Office, Estate Office, Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh Housing Board and Registering & Licensing Authority, the Right to Service Act has come into operation in the UT of Chandigarh since October, 2019 The Chandigarh Right to Service Commission has been monitoring the implementation of the Right to Service Act by the above-mentioned departments on regular basis. As per the reports received from these departments, they have been able to dispose of 99% of the applications (received in their offices in respect of the notified public services), well within the prescribed time-limits! Chandigarh.13 Jan,2020: It is for the information to the general public/residents of Chandigarh that the  registration  for participating in e-auction of vehicle registration numbers of new series “CH01-CA” along with e-auction of left over fancy/special registration numbers of previous series “CH01-BZ”, “CH01-BY”, “CH01-BX”, “CH01-BW”, “CH01-BV”, “CH01-BU”, “CH01-BT” & “CH01-BS”   (list enclosed) will be started from 15.01.2020 (10:00 AM) and will continue till 21.01.2020 (05:00 PM). The e-auction/bidding will be started from 22.01.2020 (10:00 AM) to 24.01.2020 (05:00PM). Meeting of State Advisory Board on Disability held

The State Advisory Board on Disability held its first meeting today   under the Chairmanship of Adviser to the Administrator in accordance with the provisions of the Rights of Persons with Disability Act, 2016. At the outset, Chairman took introduction of all the members along with the activities carried out   by their department/ organization with regard to the welfare of Persons with Disabilities. Thereafter, Chairman reviewed the section wise implementation of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. Smt. DC reviews preparations for Republic Day celebrations

Chandigarh, 9 th January   2020 : The Deputy Commissioner, Mandip Singh Brar convened a coordination meeting today to review and discuss the preparation for the celebration of   Republic Day with all the stakeholders. The Deputy Commisioner emphasized   that the event should be celebrated in its true spirit and urged the concerned departments to work in coordination with each other. The DC also urged everyone to come up with innovative ideas to make the celebrations memorable. The discussions centered around arrangements of security, parade, tableaux, awardees, etc. It was also decided that a special checking drive will be organised at different areas of the city. Photo ID must to buy acid, shopkeepers need licence to sell

Chandigarh.9 January,2020: The Deputy Commissioner, Mandip Singh Brar convened a meeting today with all the SDMs, Police Officialsand other senior officials regarding regulation of Sale of Acid. The Deputy Commissioner strictly   directed that Addional Deputy Commisioner, Sh.Sachin Rana and all the SDMs will ensure that   no one will be able to purchase acid without submitting a photo ID. Also, shopkeepers who sell acid will have to obtain a licence to do the same. The SDMs will also have to catch hold of all the illegal acid sellers in the Tricity .The Deputy Commisoer has set a three days deadline to crack them down. The Director Health Dr. Dewan has been assigned as the nodal officer for the project.

Administrator Cycles to promote cycling as an environment-friendly mode of transportation

Chandigarh,   8 th January 2020: The Governor of Punjab and Administrator, Chandigarh Sh. VP Singh Badnore pedaled from Raj Bhawan to UT Secretariat Building   today with Sh. Manoj Parida, Adviser to the Administrator and all the senior officials of Chandigarh Administration to promote cycling as an environment-friendly mode of transportation and healthy lifestyle . The Administrator took this initiative to encourage residents of City Beautiful to adopt cycling and help the Administration in reducing environmental pollution. Riding bicycle is safer and greener alternative that would reduce traffic congestion   in the city. France agrees to Advisers request to study restoration of Le Corbusier Heritage

Chandigarh, 31st December 2019.On the request of Sh.Manoj Parida, IAS,Adviser to the Administrator, the Government of France has agreed to send an expert appraisal mission to study the restoration of Le Corbusier heritage in Chandigarh. In a written communication sent by Emmanuel Lenain, Ambassador Of France to Manoj Parida, Adviser to Administrator, the dates for this mission have been indicated. The Experts from the National School of Architecture of Paris –Belleville, the Le Corbusier Foundation and the Laboratoire de Recherche des Monuments Historiques (LRMH)   will visit Chandigarh from 3rd to 9th February. They will be accompanied by representatives   of the Embassy of France in India. The preliminary diagnosis that the experts will provide following their mission will serve as basis for recommendations and technical assistance for further restoration of the heritage sites convened.
