Meeting With Delegates of Nottingham City Council

Chandigarh, February 8, 2016: A meeting was held today under the Chairmanship of Sh. Vijay Dev, IAS, Adviser to the Administrator, UT, Chandigarh with the delegates of Nottingham City Council, UK (led by Deputy British High Commission). Nottingham city is known as power capital of UK due to its innovative ideas for reducing power poverty. Traffic Management, Low Carbon Emission buses, Solid Waste Management, Safety & Surveillance  etc are some of the active areas of the Nottingham City.

Chandigarh Administration  is working on the Upgradation of Smart City Proposal (SCP) which has to be submitted latest by April 2016. The co-operation with Nottingham Council will be finalized as soon as the SCP is finalized. Both cities are looking for possibility on technical co-operation in which expertise of project managers from Nottingham will be utilized in Chandigarh. Team Nottingham will again visit Chandigarh after 2 months along with their experts.

Chandigarh Administration is dedicated to keep swift pace on the upcoming Smart City initiatives ahead of other cities of India. Chandigarh is 2nd among fast track cities which will participate for 2nd round of Smart Cities Challenge.

The meeting was attended by the Finance Secretary, Home Secretary, Secretary Transport, Chief Conservator of Forest, SSP Traffic, Nodal Officer Smart, Chief Architect, Senior Town Planner & Director Transport of the Chandigarh Administration.

Administrator Launches Website of Sports Department Chandigarh

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. As part of this campaign, IMA has designed stickers with the message “Vote for a healthy democracy”, which will be stuck on all the prescriptions of patients.
