Department of Social Welfare, Women & Child Development

Chandigarh, 29th April, 2016: The Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh is pleased to change the nomenclature of the post of Secretary Social Welfare, Chandigarh Administration to that of Secretary Social Welfare, Women & Child Development, Chandigarh Administration, and rename the Department of Social Welfare as “ Department of Social Welfare, Women & Child Development” with immediate effect.

Charge of the post of Managing Director, CITCO Ltd.

Chandigarh, 29th April, 2016:  The Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh is pleased to allow Smt. Kavita Singh, IAS, Managing Director, CITCO Ltd. Chandigarh to perform Election Duty as General Observer in the General Elections to the Legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadu [Constituencies:176-Pattukkottai(Thanjavur) and 177-Peravurani(Thanjavur) from 29.04.2016 to 19.05.2016.                    Consequent upon proceeding on Election Duty as General Observer by Smt. Kavita Singh, IAS, Managing Director, CITCO Ltd. from 29.04.2016 to 19.05.2016 the Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh is pleased to assign the charge of the post of Managing Director, CITCO Ltd. to Sh. Jitender Yadav, IAS, Director Tourism, UT, Chandigarh, in addition to his own duties, till the officer joins back. 

Chandigarh Food Articles ( Licensing and Control) Order

Chandigarh, 29th April, 2016: In exercise of powers conferred by Section 3 of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 (10 of 1955) and in view of Removal of ( Licensing requirements, Stock limits and Movement Restrictions) on Specified Foodstuffs Order, 2002, as issued by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution (Department of Consumer Affairs) vide order no. G.S.R.104(E), dated 15.02.2002, the Administrator, UT, Chandigarh is hereby pleased to repeal the Chandigarh Food Articles ( Licensing and Control) Order 1991, published in the Extra Ordinary Gazette of Union Territory, Chandigarh vide No. DFSO-CH-12/91-4065 dated 04.09.1991, with immediate effect.

Encroachment Drive in East Jurisdiction

Chandigarh, 28 th April, 2016: Under the aegis of Sh. Bhupesh Chaudhary, IAS, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (East), a n anti-encroachment drive was conducted on 27.04.2016 by the Enforcement team, in the market of sec-29 and sec 30, Chandigarh. During the anti encroachment drive 40 challans were issued against the defaulter shopkeepers.

Launch of Toll Free Number 1800-180-2054

Chandigarh, 28 th April, 2016: The Adviser to the Administrator, UT, Chandigarh Sh. Parimal Rai, IAS, today launched the Toll-Free Number 1800-180-2054 at the UT Secretariat, Chandigarh. The Toll-Free number has been created by the Zila Sainik Welfare Board to redress the grievances of serving and retired soldiers from any part of the country, which relate to the Chandigarh Administration. Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS, President, Zila Sainik Board, during the launch shared that the Toll-Free number has been launched for easing up the process of grievance registration and reddressal for ex-servicemen, serving soldiers and their widows/wards, so that they can call on this number and register their complaints pertaining to any department of the Chandigarh Administration. Once the complaint is made, a registration number would be given to each complainant for future reference and to know the status of their complaint. Addressing the media during the launch, Sh.
