Chandigarh, 20 th  October, 2017:    It is for the information to the general public that the orders of closing of the office of Registering & Licensing Authority, UT Chandigarh on 21.10.2017 are hereby withdrawn. The office will remain open and function as usual on 21.10.2017. 

Chandigarh, 20 th October 2017: Raids and inspections were conducted under the supervision of Sh. Arjun Sharma, IAS, Sub Divisional Magistrate (East), Chandigarh in the East Sub Division to keep a strict vigil at various locations regarding illegal sale of fire crackers and bursting of fire crackers outside permissible time limits. All SHOs were directed to provide adequate force, lodge FIR under relevant section against wrongdoers and get public announcement done through their patrolling vehicles in their respective jurisdiction. 07 cases were registered u/s 188 IPC for selling crackers without licence and 15 cases were registered u/s 188 IPC for bursting crackers outside permissible time limits in the area under the East Sub Division.  Inspections were also made for the sale of Chinese crackers/illegal fireworks at all the designated places of East Sub Division and cases were registered at various places regarding bursting of crackers after 9.30 pm.  Teams were strict...

Chandigarh, 26 th September 2017 : As per the orders of Designated Officer, Food Safety Administration, a joint team of Food Safety Officers was constituted for conducting inspection and sampling. The team inspected the premises of Panjab University, Chandigarh on 25 th September 2017. Various food joints, hostel mess and canteens were inspected for their general hygiene and quality standards.Six samples were lifted for analysis and examination and a challan was made for un-hygienic and un-sanitary conditions for the violation of the Act. On 26-09-2017 a team inspected various sweet shops in UT of Chandigarh and samples of Khoya products were taken. Chandigarh, 22 nd  September, 2017:  It has been made to appear to the District Magistrate, Chandigarh that during the festival period, noise pollution caused by bursting/usage of fire crackers and Chinese/imported crackers is likely to create annoyance and cause injury to the health of members of public and that there is a need to prevent the same by restricting the bursting/usage of fire crackers and sale of Chinese/imported crackers. Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, I.A.S., District Magistrate, Chandigarh is of the opinion that immediate action is necessary to put restrictions on bursting/usage of fire crackers and sale of Chinese/imported crackers in the Union Territory of Chandigarh.  Therefore, Sh.
