Chandigarh, 1 st March 2018: In pursuance of the order dated: 14.12.2016 issued by Hon’ble National Green Tribunal, Principal Bench, New Delhi, in the matter of Khalid Ashraf & Anr. Vs. U.O.I. & Ors. (O.A. No. 384 of 2016) AND P.E.T.A., India Vs. U.O.I. & Ors. (O.A. no. 442 of 2016), it has been made to appear to Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS, District Magistrate, Chandigarh that a large number of people flying the kites, use synthetic/nylon-glass coated thread popularly known as Pakka thread/Dori and Chinese Maanjha/Dori. These Maanjhas/Doris, being made of synthetic material are non-biodegradable and thus cause serious injuries to human beings, birds and are equally disadvantageous & harmful to the wildlife/environment. The Budget meeting of Market Committee, Chandigarh

Chandigarh 28 th  February, 2018: The Budget meeting of Market Committee, Chandigarh was held today in the office room of Chairman, Market Committee. The meeting was chaired by Sh. Kulwinder Singh Lubana, Chairman, Market Committee. The budget of the Committee for the financial year 2018-19 was presented by Sh. Manoj Kumar Sharma Secretary, Market Committee Chandigarh. Hon’ble President of India visits Chandigarh to attend the 50th year celebrations of MCM DAV College for Women

Chandigarh 27 th  February, 2018: Sh. Ram Nath Kovind , Hon’ble President of India, today graced MCM DAV College for Women, a premier multi-faculty postgraduate institution, on its 50th year of establishment in an equally splendid Golden Jubilee Celebrations. Other distinguished dignitaries included Sh. V.P. Singh Badnore, Hon'ble Governor, Punjab and Administrator, U.T., Chandigarh, Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki, Hon'ble Governor, Haryana, Acharya Dev Vrat, Hon'ble Governor, Himachal Pradesh and Smt. Chandigarh 27 th  February, 2018:  The Chandigarh Administration has earmarked the Rally Ground, Sector 25, Chandigarh for taking out processions, rallies, dharnas, etc. and no permission has been granted by the Chandigarh Administration to organize processions, rallies, dharnas, etc. elsewhere in the city other than the designated location, i.e., Rally Ground, Sector 25, Chandigarh and the same has been done to avoid traffic congestion, keeping in view of the convenience of the general public.    Whereas, it has been made to appear to Sh. Chandigarh 27 th  February, 2018:  In pursuance of Gazette notification No. F. No. X. 11029/6/2010-DDAP dated 17-07-2012 issued by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India, New Delhi and order of Secretary, Health, Chandigarh issued vide Endst. No. 1/68/FII(6)/2013/1127, dated 09-02-2015, Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, I.A.S., District Magistrate, Chandigarh in exercise of the powers vested with him under Section 144 Cr.P.C. do hereby orders that sale and production of Bottled Correcting Fluids, as well as bottled thinners of any chemical composition, both for ink erasing purposes as well as for nail polish removers and similar other purposes for retail sale, is hereby prohibited within the jurisdiction of Union Territory of Chandigarh, in the public interest for a period of 60 days.  This order shall come into force  from zero hours on 27.02.2018  and shall be effective for a period of sixty days  up to and including 27.04.2018 .

Chandigarh, 21 st February 2018: In partial modification of this office’s order regarding playing of any kind of music/sounds originating from any kind of instrument/appliance/apparatus capable of producing or re-producing sound is banned between 10:00 P.M. to 06:00 A.M. in the Union Territory, Chandigarh. ‘The use of loudspeaker or public address system and the like during the night hours (between 10:00 P.M. to 12 midnight) is hereby allowed only on the 15 days notified by the Secretary, Environment, Chandigarh, vide his office notification no. 5039, dated: 12.01.2018’.                   

CHB allows allottees to retain additional constructions/encroachment

Chandigarh, 12 th  February, 2018 :   This is in continuation of the CHB order No. 342, dt. 26.12.17  wherein Chandigarh Housing Board has allowed its allottees to  retain additional constructions/encroachments not covered under the approved Need Based Changes, for a period of  one year on payment of penalty charges to be paid annually and the allottees are  also required to submit a certificate of structural stability to CHB from a qualified Structural Engineer having ME/M.Tech, registered with the Chandigarh Administration in the interest of safety of the occupants and in the interest of public safety.  It has come to notice that some residents have raised objections quoting various reasons, for the additional constructions made on other floors etc. for which the penalty charges are deposited in the CHB by the respective allottees.               Keeping in view the above and in the larger public interest,...
