Mountaineering Course/ Expedition

Chandigarh, 26 th  May, 2016:   Department of Social Welfare, Women & Child Development, Chandigarh Administration in association with the Indian Mountaineering Foundation has taken the first batch of 28 specially abled persons and 5 escort members for Mountaineering Course/ Expedition on 13.05.2016 to Manali. Whereas, 28 Specially abled participants have completed 12 days of the said course they did rock crafts in which they learnt natural and artificial rock climbing, rappelling, jummarring and physically river crossing. There are humungous things to learn in mountains, trained instructors have been taken the theory classes with the help of sign language interpreter. Further, they have tracked 14 km to reach Solang Vally on 25 th   May 2016. Here they will be going to learn Ice Crafts and Snow crafts& expedition will continue till 10 June, 2016. On contrary, t he first batch of women has gone to Dargelling for Mountaineering on 25 May 2016.

RLA Starts Online Submission for Licenses

Chandigarh, May 24, 2016 : It is for the information to the general public/ residents of Chandigarh that RLA office has started the process of online application submission for Learner’s License, Regular Driving License, Renewal of Driving License, Duplicate License, Replacement of License and Alternation in Driving License. Now the applicant can fill up his application on official website www.chdtranport.gov.in .  Special Express Counters (two) have been established to handle the applicants who have submitted the application online, meaning thereby that these applicants do not have to stand in queue with general applicants & their work shall be done on priority basis at express counters. This feature has been made possible due to implementation of SARATHI 4.0 version by NIC. There have been hiccups in starting of this version due to which pace of work ws slow earlier, but RLA office held number of meetings with NIC staff at Chandigarh and Delhi team to sort out the issue....

Two Bed Room Flats Self Financing Housing Scheme 2016

Chandigarh, May 23, 2016 : The Sector 51-A Two Hundred (200) Two Bed Room Flats Self Financing Housing Scheme 2016 has been fully subscribed, as of 5 PM on 23.05.2015. 225 Application Forms have been received and more application forms are expected to be received, online and in physical format, within today. Although details are being compiled, at-least 25 application forms have been submitted under the Assured Allotment Scheme (Scheme ‘B’) whereby applicants were free to bid an amount higher than Rs.69 lacs (in multiples of Rs.50,000/-) for assured allotment.  If, by the end of the day, the 50 flats under Plan B of the Assured Allotment Scheme are not fully subscribed, the remaining nos. of flats will be transferred to the General Pool of Scheme ‘A’. Distribution of Rupay Cards/ ATM Cards to the Pension Beneficiaries

Chandigarh, May 23, 2016: The Department of Social Welfare, Women and Child Development organised a function for distribution of Rupay Cards/ ATM Cards to the pension beneficiaries at Senior Citizen Home, Sector 43-A, Chandigarh today. Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Smt. Kirron Kher, was the Chief Guest on this occasion and she distributed Rupay Cards/ATM cards to 52 pension holders. The main objective of the department is to provide Social Security/ financial assistance to widows and old age persons who are without any means of subsistence. Earlier, old age/ widow/ Disabled pension whose family income was upto Rs.12,000/- p.a was provided @ Rs. 200 - Rs.500/- p.m. to those. Now, the rate of all pensions i.e. old age/ widow/ Disabled and Dependent Children of widows pensions has been increased from Rs. 200 - Rs.500/- to Rs.1000/- p.m. w.e.f. 01.04.2016. Health Camp held at Civil Dispensary Maulijagran

Chandigarh, May 22, 2016: Chandigarh Health Department in Collaboration with Max Superspeciality Hospital and UCO Bank organized a Health Camp at Civil Dispensary, Mauli Jagran today.
