National Girl Child Week Celebrations under Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Scheme

Chandigarh, 24 th  January, 2019:  The National Girl Child Week is being celebrated  throughout the country from 21 st -26 th  January, 2019 under Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Scheme. The theme of the week for January 2019 is "Empowering Girl for a better Tomorrow”. Under this celebration, the Department of Social Welfare, Chandigarh Administration has organised awareness programmes to create awareness on  Protection of Women; Good Touch Bad Touch;   Right to Education ; and role of Women and Child Helpline for women and children safety for the students of GMSSS Kaimbwala. 'National Girl Child Day' Celebrations held in Chandigarh

Chandigarh, 24 th  January, 2019:  The Health Department, U.T Chandigarh today celebrated the National Girl Child Day in the village Palsora by sensitizing the public with the Street Play by the troupe full of enthusiasm. A Street Play was organized in the community to create mass awareness regarding ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’. Health talks regarding importance of Health & Hygiene were also organized in Civil Dispensaries during the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Week. Save the Girl Child was the focus area during the celebrations. Chandigarh, 22 nd  January, 2019:  The National Girl Child Week is being celebrated throughout the country from 21 st -26 th  January, 2019 under Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Scheme. The theme of the week for January 2019 is "Empowering Girl for a better tomorrow”.  Under this celebration, the Department of Social Welfare Chandigarh Administration has organised awareness programmes to create awareness on  Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005;   Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 ; and role of SAKHI- ONE STOP CENTRE for the Anganwadi Workers at Bapudham, Khejeri and Maloya. Written Test for 418 posts of Junior Basic Teachers(JBT) for appointment in Govt. Schools of UT, Chandigarh

Chandigarh, 21st January, 2019:  The Written Test for 418 posts of Junior Basic Teachers(JBT) for appointment in Govt. Schools of UT, Chandigarh will be conducted under Samagra Shiksha, Chandigarh by National Institute of technical Teachers Training & Research (NITTTR), Sector-26, Chandigarh in 43 examination Centres on 27 th  January, 2019 from 10:30 AM to 01:00 PM for 21,578 candidates. The Chandigarh Administration has appointed 18 IAS/HCS/PCS/officers as Independent Observers. ‘Solar Power Awareness Camp’

Chandigarh, 21 st January, 2019:  To popularize ‘Solar Chandigarh Campaign, a  ‘ Solar Power Awareness Camp’, was organised by   Chandigarh Renewable Energy And Science & Technology Promotion Society, CREST along with CRAWFED (Chandigarh Residents Association Welfare Federation) and YUVSATTA NGO, at Government Museum & Art Gallery, Sector 10-C , Chandigarh. Sh. Debendra Dalai, IFS, CEO, CREST and Director, Department of Science & Technology was the Chief Guest. Meeting held by Additional Chief Electoral Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner, U.T. Chandigarh regarding General Elections to Lok Sabha-2019

Chandigarh, 18 th  January, 2019:  A meeting was held today under the Chairmanship of Sh. Mandip Singh Brar, IAS, Additional Chief Electoral Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner, U.T. Chandigarh, with the representatives of Political Parties to discuss SVEEP activities (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation), polling station locations and take suggestions from them on how to increase voter turnout during the General Elections to Lok Sabha-2019. The main areas of focus during the meeting were Electoral Roll Management, EVM/VVPAT and ways to achieve informed, ethical and enhanced participation of citizens in the upcoming elections.  During the meeting, Sh.
