Administrator Flags Off Electric Bus To Be Run On PGI - Madhya Marg Route

Chandigarh, 11th August 2021: Sh. V.P Singh Badnore, Governor Punjab & Administrator, UT Chandigarh flagged off the Electric bus today from Raj Bhawan in the presence of Sh. Dharam Pal,IAS,Adviser to the Administartor and other senior officials of Chandigarh Administration. He also travelled in the same bus from Raj Bhawan to Police Station, Sector 17 and thereafter to India International Centre, Chandigarh. The Proto bus will be on trial basis under City Conditions for approximately 20 days. Initially during trial the bus will be operated on PGI- Manimajra via Madhya Marg Route. The bus will be put under operation for general public tentatively from 1st week of September 2021. Further 19 buses are likely to be received by 30th September 2021 and other 20 by October 2021. Chandigarh.11th August,2021: Installation of 325kWp Rooftop Solar Power Plants at 12 No. Police Establishments in Chandigarh was inaugurated today by Sh.V.P. Singh Badnore, Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT Chandigarh in the presence of Sh.Dharam Pal, IAS, Adviser to the Administrator, UTChandigarh along with Sh.Arun Kumar Gupta, IAS, Principal Secretary(Science & Technology & RE), Sh.Sanjay Baniwal, IPS, Director General of Police, UT Chandigarh and Sh.Debendra Dalai, IFS, Director (Science & Technology & Renewable Energy)-cum-CEO, CREST, UT Chandigarh. As a step forward, ‘Continuous Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Station (CAAQMS)’ installed at Govt. Raising Awareness on HIV-AIDS through Auto-Rickshaws

Chandigarh State AIDS Control Society has adopted an innovative way for creating HIV/AIDS awareness. 100 numbers of Autos have been got fabricated with HIV-AIDS awareness message to move around tricity. Dr. Vanita Gupta, Project Director, Chandigarh State AIDS Control Society informed that this is a pilot project for raising awareness among local city population about HIV-AIDS modes of transmission and prevention and also creating awareness about the free services available in the field of HIV-AIDS. We are encouraging voluntary HIV testing and also trying to create an openness about the disease by speaking about it publically. We think that this awareness campaign would be a big success and will increase the awareness level. I request people to come forward and get themselves tested for HIV which is free and confidential. This service is available in all Government Health Institutes.

LAUNCH OF BRUCELLOSIS PROGRAMME UNDER NATIONAL ANIMAL DISEASE CONTROL PROGRAM IN U.T. CHANDIGARH

Chandigarh.4th August,2021:The first round of Brucellosis vaccine under National Animal Disease Control Program (NADCP) has been launched by the Department of Animal Husbandry & Fisheries in U.T. Chandigarh today at village Maloya. On the occasion Sh S.S. Gill,IAS, Secretary Animal Husbandry & Fisheries told that National Animal Disease Control Program (NADCP) is Central Govt. Scheme for eradication of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) and Brucellosis in livestock. The aim of the program is to control the livestock disease by 2025 and eradicate these by 2030. The program aims at vaccinating over 21000 livestock of Chandigarh free of cost which includes Cattle, Buffalo, Sheep, Goats and Pigs against FMD and all bovines female calves against the brucellosis disease. This Plan has envisaged 1,75,000 saplings to be planted during 2021-22. The target of plantation assigned to Forest Department is 75,000 saplings and Horticulture Wing of Engineering Department is 40,000 saplings and Municipal Corporation is 60,000 saplings, along with the targets of free distribution of saplings to the general public in the city. Chandigarh.16th June,2021: The Department of Social Welfare, Women and Child Development, Chandigarh Administration is implementing the Social Security Pension Schemes viz. Old Age Pension, Financial Assistance to Widows and Destitute Women, Pension to Disabled Persons and Pension to Dependent Children of Widows. The payment under the schemes is being disbursed on monthly basis in Aadhaar seeded bank accounts of the beneficiaries. The Department disbursed the pension amounting to Rs. 312.93 lacs to 28848 beneficiaries under various Pension Schemes in the month of May, 2021.
